Admission Criteria
NOTICE
Important Notices issued by Directorate General of Training (D.G.T.), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, New Delhi pertaining to admissions in I.T.I.s are mentioned below for attention of admission seekers to National Council for Vocational Training (N.C.V.T.) approved trades in Government and Private I.T.I.s:
- All admission seekers to N.C.V.T. approved trades (Engineering/Non-Engineering) are advised in their own interest to confirm and satisfy themselves before seeking admission to any trade that the respective trade/unit in the Government/Private Industrial Training Institute (I.T.I.) is affiliated to N.C.V.T. Only the trainees seeking admission to the trade/unit which is found to be affiliated under N.C.V.T. as on the date of admission are eligible to appear for the All India Trade Test (AITT) under N.C.V.T. and to be awarded with National Trade Certificate.
- A list of affiliated trades/units conducted in each Institute is available in the respective Institute and the State Directorate. It is also informed in the interest of the general public that N.C.V.T. or Government of India does not recognize any Government and Private Industrial Training Institute. N.C.V.T. affiliates only the trades and its units run by a particular I.T.I. No admission is allowed in N.C.V.T. trades without affiliation.
The candidates who desire to take admission in I.T.I.s may also note that the trades/units mentioned in Annexures-I, III and V which are currently offered under N.C.V.T. are subject to compliance to revised guidelines issued by Directorate General of Training (D.G.T.), New Delhi, inter-alia stipulating that the trades/units whose period of N.C.V.T. affiliation has exceeded five years, would need to be re-affiliated to N.C.V.T. While efforts are being made to re-affiliate such trade/courses to N.C.V.T. it may take considerable time. In the event of the N.C.V.T. re-affiliation process of such trades/units not being completed in time, the admission to these trades/units would be offered under State Council for Vocational Training (S.C.V.T.) and S.C.V.T. would accordingly conduct the final trade test and issue Certificate to all the successful candidates.
ONLINE ADMISSION SCHEDULE
The online admission schedule for admissions to I.T.I.s for the Academic Year 2026-27 will be available on the Department’s website at www.dsde.goa.gov.in.
It will also be made available for the information of general public and aspiring candidates through advertisements to be published by this Directorate in local newspapers from time-to-time.
Aspiring candidates are requested to visit www.dsde.goa.gov.in regularly to check the admission schedule, notices, instructions, manuals and updates for admissions to Government and Private I.T.I.s in the A.Y. 2026-27.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidate may refer the entry qualification mentioned against each trade on page nos. 13 to 17.
AGE
A candidate having minimum age of 14 years and above as on the first day of the academic session 2026-27 shall be eligible to seek admission in any of the trades, except for (i) Driver cum Mechanic LMV and Drone Pilot (Jr.) trades for which the candidate should be minimum 18 years of age as on the first day of the academic session 2026-27 and for (ii) Drone Technician trade, for which the candidate should be minimum 16 years of age on the first day of the academic session 2026-27.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
On admission to any course, a candidate is required to produce Medical Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner stating that he/she is fit to undergo training in the respective trade.
The candidate seeking admission in Fire Technology and Industrial Safety Management trade should have the following minimum physical requirements: Height – 165 cm, Weight – 52 kg, Chest – Normal 81 cm, expanded 85 cm and produce a Medical Certificate issued by a registered MBBS doctor stating that the candidate is medically fit to undertake the course.
DOMICILE
The candidate should produce Residence Certificate issued by a Mamlatdar stating that he/she has be residing in Goa for a period of minimum 10 years or above preceding the date of the application.
A candidate may also produce Leaving/ Bonafide certificate issued by the school/college indicating the period of continuous schooling which should be minimum 10 years or above preceding the date of the application. In case, there is any major break in the education, even though the residence was continued in the State of Goa, then, candidate would be required to produce documentary evidence or a certificate issued by the Mamlatdar stating that during the said break period, he/she was in Goa and has fulfilled requirement of continuous residence in Goa for the particular period.
The aforesaid condition shall not apply to:
- Children of Central/State/Union Territory Government employees and employees of Government of India undertakings who are posted in Goa.
- Children of Freedom Fighters registered as such in the Home Department of Government of Goa.
- Children of parents (both father and mother) of Goan origin, who are born in Goa and are serving/retired from the Armed Forces, provided that such children pass their qualifying examinations under the Central Board of Education or Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations or Goa Board of Technical Education or any other board recognized by concerned State/Central Government, as the case may be.
- Children of Ex-Servicemen registered with Rajya Sainik Board in Goa who have studied and passed the minimum qualifying examination from the Schools/Polytechnics in Goa.
Note:
- a) Relaxation in 10 years of residence certificate for *orphans /destitute children will be provided based on certificate issued by Government recognized Institute/Hostels or on submission of self-declaration form in Annexure IX format which is appended at the end of this Prospectus.
- b) Relaxation in domicile period will be considered if seats remain vacant even after exhausting above options for S.C.V.T.&N.C.V.T. trades in all the I.T.I.s, after the completion of the Second Round mentioned in the Schedule of admission process.
RESERVATION OF SEATS
The number of seats / percentage of the total intake capacity/seats of each trade and unit that is reserved for the candidates belonging to each of the following categories is as stated against the category. The reservations are applicable to both, Government and Private I.T.I.s in the State of Goa.
However, the reservation shall be considered only if the candidate specifically indicates it in the application form by the candidate.

One seat is reserved at each I.T.I. for each of the following categories, with the allocation of trade at the discretion of the Director (SD&E).

One seat in each of the I.T.I.s is reserved for wards of defense personnel in the following order of priority. However, the allocation of trade is at the discretion of the Director (SD&E).

The Institute Managing Committee (I.M.C.) of Vasco Government I.T.I. is permitted to utilize up to 20% of sanctioned seats for admissions to only Vasco Government I.T.I. on merit basis against the payment of fee of Rs.5000/- (Rupees five thousand only) per year (as fixed by I.M.C. of Vasco Government I.T.I.) in addition to the tuition fee and caution money deposit amount required to be paid.
The unutilized I.M.C. quota seats shall be filled after the second round of admission at the said I.T.I. by admitting general category candidates on merit basis against the payment of fee of Rs 5000/- (five thousand only) per year (as fixed by I.M.C. of Vasco Government I.T.I.) in addition to the tuition fee and caution money deposit amount required to be paid.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION TO I.T.I.
- Passport Size Photograph
- 10th Pass / 8th Pass mark sheet (As applicable)
- Birth Certificate
- Aadhaar Card with correct name of candidate and parent
- Residence Certificate / Bonafide Certificates (Proving last 10 years continuous domicile / residence in Goa)
- Caste Certificate issued by Government of Goa (SC/ ST/ O.B.C.)
- Income Proof: Income Certificate indicating annual family income upto Rs. 3 lakhs issued by Competent Authority and having name of the candidate mentioned in it.
- BPL/Antyodaya (AAY)/PHH Ration Card (if available)
- Latest Leaving / Bonafide Certificate issued by school/college.
- Other Category Certificates issued by Competent Government Authority (as applicable):
- Orphan /Destitute child certificate issued by Government recognized Institute/Hostels OR Self-declaration certificate in Annexure IX format (appended at the end) duly filled by a candidate who is an orphan/destitute child and/or his/her caretaker/guardian.
- Children of Government employee
iii. Economically Weaker Section (E.W.S.) Certificate
- Person with Disability (P.w.D.) certificate issued by Goa Medical College Doctor
- Children of Freedom Fighters (C.F.F.)

NOTE:
- Document at Sr. No. 7 is required for availing concession in fees at the Government I.T.I.s only.
- Original documents along with the self-attested photocopies should be submitted by the candidate to the respective I.T.I. at the time of verification of documents. The original documents should be collected from the I.T.I. office by the trainee personally after 15days and within one month of commencement of the new academic year/session.
